    Parmesan Popcorn with Brown Butter

This is a recipe for parmesan popcorn drizzled with brown butter. A little bit nutty from the butter and a little salty from the Parmesan cheese. A unique popcorn recipe and a great snack. I’m thinking movie night.

    Brown Butter Parmesan Popcorn

Have I ever mentioned that I’m a self-proclaimed popcorn connoisseur? Well…ok, maybe not a true connoisseur, but I pop a lot of it, eat a lot of it and love a lot of it. There’s not a tastier snack than warm fresh popped corn simply tossed with salt and butter. And I do know that not all popcorns are created equal. And really, can you watch a movie without popcorn? Heck no!

    Popcorn and apple
    Whirley Pop pan

I came by my love of popcorn honestly. My father’s favorite evening snack was a bowl of popcorn, a sliced apple and some Colby cheese. He popped it himself on the stovetop in his favorite popcorn popping skillet. Which come to think of it was also my mother’s favorite fried chicken skillet.

How to pop popcorn in a skillet

I’ve always popped corn in a skillet. It’s easy enough to do, just add 3 T. oil and 1/2 cup popcorn and put a lid on it. When it starts to pop, grab the handle, get a tight grip on to the lid and shake the devil out of it until there are no more kernels popping.

Then pick out the old maids. Thanks to my friend Vickie, who a few years ago filled me in on the Whirley Pop popcorn maker. I placed my order immediately and the rest is history. It practically lives on my stove-top and it pops corn like a pro. It’s quick and is the best and easiest way to make a great bowl of popcorn. With it’s unique spin technology, it keeps the corn turning and popping with uniformity. I challenge you to find more than a couple old maids. This is not a sponsored post, I just love my Whirley Pop.

      Oh, woooow!

This is genius and looks so good! I have popcorn parties with my friends (I know, nerds), and I am thinking that this will be the idea I propose for our next one.

      Thank you so much,
      Natasha

I love popcorn, too! Sometimes, I’ll just have it for dinner! During the summer, I love popcorn with a peach. 🙂
